Steinbach RCMP recently checked over 100 random vehicles in the area for security – numerous vehicles were found to be prime targets for theft.

On Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9, 2019, over 100 vehicles were checked at different local businesses and establishments in Steinbach. Approximately 22 vehicles were observed with valuables left in plain view on front passenger seats. Items ranged from electronics to purses. Police also noted that there were some vehicles with windows rolled down and doors left unlocked.

Police are reminding the public that leaving items, such as purses or wallets, in your vehicle whether locked or unlocked, can put you at risk of having your identity stolen.

Pamphlets were left on vehicles that were checked, providing helpful hints.
