On Saturday, October 22 at approximately 1pm, Selkirk RCMP responded to a call of possible human remains located along the banks of the Red River near Highway 212 and 204.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the remains were human and contacted the Manitoba Historical Resources Branch for assistance. Employees from the Manitoba Historical Resources Branch arrived at the scene and assisted officers with the investigation.

RCMP report that the remains found along the banks of the Red River have been determined to be historic. The RCMP investigation is now concluded and has been turned over to the Historic Resources Branch of the Province of Manitoba.
