A Winkler man has died this past week after colliding with a semi-trailer, driven by a Steinbach man, near Roland, Manitoba.

On October 26, 2016, at approximately 8:15pm, Morden RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 23, approximately two kilometres east of Roland, Manitoba.

Police say that a semi-trailer was parked on the north side of the highway with its hazard lights on. During that time, a westbound car struck the back of the semi before veering into the south ditch. The semi driver was able to get the lone occupant, a 44-year-old Winkler man, out of the car, however, he was deceased at the scene.

RCMP report that the 40-year-old male driver of the semi, from Steinbach, Manitoba, was not injured in this incident.

An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
