On October 30, 2016, at approximately 6:15am, St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 75, just north of Provincial Road 247, south of St. Norbert, Manitoba.

Police say that a car was traveling north in the southbound lane of Highway 75 when it collided head-on with a southbound car. As a result of the impact, the northbound car ended up in the west ditch and caught fire. The driver and lone occupant of the northbound vehicle, a 21-year-old Winnipeg woman, was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The driver and lone occupant of the southbound vehicle, a 26-year-old woman, also from Winnipeg, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

RCMP report that speed, alcohol and distracted driving are considered factors in this collision. It is believed at this time that seatbelts were in use by both drivers.

An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
