Tuesday, September 10, 2019 is election day in Manitoba and all voting places are open from 8am to 8pm.

Manitobans are eligible to vote if they are 18 or older, Canadian citizens, and have lived in the province for at least six months immediately before election day.

Voters must show ID to vote, either one piece of government-issued photo ID or two other documents with their name. The Voter Information Card can be used as one piece of ID. For a complete list of acceptable ID, visit the Elections Manitoba website.

Eligible voters who are not registered can still vote, as long as they show ID.

Registered voters without ID may have another registered voter from the same electoral division vouch for them.

Many accessibility options are available at voting places, including, Braille candidate lists, Braille ballot templates, and magnifying rulers. Voters may also bring someone along to help them vote or a voting officer may provide assistance.

Children are invited to accompany their parents to the voting places. Each child will receive an “Official Future Voter” sticker, while voters will receive an “I Voted” sticker.

For more information about voting options and where to vote, eligible voters should check their Voter Information Card, visit electionsmanitoba.ca, or contact their returning officer.
