A 27-year-old Portage la Prairie man was recently discovered deceased near rail tracks located in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
On September 21, 2019, at approximately 9:10am, officers from the Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a report stating that a body had been located on the rail tracks near 8th Street NW and Fisher Avenue in Portage la Prairie.
Officers responded to the location and located a 27-year-old male, from Portage la Prairie. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police believe that the victim was likely struck by a passing train earlier on the same day during the morning hours.
Portage la Prairie RCMP along with our Forensic Identification Services unit continue to assist CN Police Service in the investigation.
