A 62-year-old woman has recently died after the motorcycle she was riding collided with a vehicle at an intersection on Highway 59.

On October 7, 2019, at approximately 3:40pm, St. Pierre RCMP responded to a collision involving a vehicle and motorcycle. The incident occurred on Highway 59 at the intersection of Oak Grove Road.

Initial police investigation determined that a pickup truck, traveling west on Oak Grove Road, proceeded through the stop sign and collided with a motorcycle that was traveling north on Highway 59.

Police say that the driver of the motorcycle, a 62-year-old Winnipeg woman, was taken to hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. The driver and lone occupant of the pickup truck, a 16-year-old male youth from Grande Pointe, received only minor injuries.

RCMP report that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this collision. RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
