Stonewall RCMP are currently investigating the stabbing of an inmate that occurred at the Stony Mountain Institution in Stonewall, Manitoba.

On January 20, 2020, at 8pm, Stonewall RCMP receivedĀ a report that a 29-year-old male inmate at the Stony Mountain Institution had been stabbed.

Officers were advised that the 29-year-old male inmate was seen entering another inmate’s cell and later emerged injured. The victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries where he remains in stable condition.

Police say that no arrests have been made at this time.

Officers from the Stonewall Detachment, along with RCMP Major Crime Services, continue to investigate this incident.
