Steinbach RCMP have arrested and charged Matthew Phillip Martens in connection to a recent domestic assault investigation.
On Friday July 3, 2020, at approximately 5pm, Steinbach RCMP were made aware of a domestic assault that had occurred the previous night. In response, patrols were made in Blumenort where the accused, Matthew Phillip Martens, was located.
Police say that Martens was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.
RCMP report that Matthew Martens has been charged for assault, failing to comply with release conditions and uttering threats against a person. He was also found to be in possession of a stolen motorcycle and subsequently charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and operation while prohibited.
Martens has been remanded into custody.
