On Sunday, September 20, 2020, the Terry Fox Run will be returning to Steinbach for its 40th Anniversary year. Terry Foxers will unite in spirit, not in person this year, “One Day, Your Way.”

The Terry Fox Run is going virtual this year, which means that families and individuals can participate safely wherever they’d like – around the block, through the neighbourhood, or from their own backyard – and however they’d like. Whether you choose to walk, ride, swim or skateboard, the common goal is to raise funds for Canadian cancer research and to honour Terry’s forty year legacy.

In 1980, Manitoba born Terry Fox began his Marathon of Hope and brought Canadians together to help improve the lives of those battling cancer. Canadians have since raised over 800 million dollars for cancer research in Terry’s name, and the Terry Fox Foundation is excited to celebrate forty years since Terry united the country with his dream of a world without cancer, and to continue his efforts to help others.

Over the years, the community of Steinbach has raised over twenty thousand dollars through the Terry Fox Run to support lifesaving cancer research projects. Steinbach can keep hope alive by contributing to these funds that will change the lives of those that are battling and will battle cancer.

The annual Terry Fox Run is a non-competitive, community based fundraising event, and there is no minimum distance or minimum fundraising amount. You and your family are invited to register for the 2020 event and unite in spirit with Canadians from coast, to coast, to coast with a common goal.
