The RCMP North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST), RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Police Dog Services assisted two detachments in northern Manitoba last weekend with getting drugs off the streets.

On December 2, 2016, a search warrant was executed in Grand Rapids. The Integrated Gang Intelligence Unit assisted Grand Rapids RCMP and the teams with seizing cocaine, pills, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and ammunition.

Police arrested and charged three Grand Rapids residents with possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine. Included in the arrests were 5.-year-old Wilfred Angus Turner, 21-year-old Phyllis Annette Dawn Scott and 28-year-old Jacob Wilfred Sanderson who was also charged with possession of ammunition contrary to order.

Police are still looking for Kenneth Robert Sanderson, 35, of Grand Rapids in relation to this investigation.

On December 3, 2016, Chemawawin RCMP, along with the teams, executed a search warrant in Chemawawin. As a result of the search, police located and seized cocaine, drug paraphernalia and cash.

Two Chemawawin residents were arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of proceeds of Crime. Included in the arrests were 38-year-old Beverly Ann Chartrand and 46-year-old Brad Donald Wadge.
