Friday, October 16 is the date for the Thanksgiving Food Drive at Southland Church when hundreds of hampers will be given away in it’s 15th annual food drive.

“We are so honoured to be able to help people who need extra support and some encouragement and although we are unable to include the clothing in this particular giveaway, many people have donated food so that we can, in turn, give away hampers to people in need,” said organizer Grace Hiebert. “We are also very grateful for several businesses for their kind contributions, including Canadian Tire who donated all of the bags and La Cocina Foods who donated chips for the hampers.”

People are invited to drive by or walk by the southwest entrance of Southland Church to receive a hamper anytime between 12 noon and 7pm on October 16. Hiebert explained that the reason for this give-away is to show love to one another as God has loved us. Hiebert stated “We want the people in our communities to know that we care for them.”
