A 52-year-old Tache man has died after the vehicle he was driving veered off the road and collided with an embankment on Road 32E.

On October 9, 2020, at approximately 10:50pm, Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision that had occurred at a location on Road 32E, near Provincial Road 501 in the RM of Tache. The report indicated that an SUV was in the east ditch of Road 32E and that the driver of the vehicle was unconscious.

RCMP reported that local fire and emergency medical services personnel were already on scene when they arrived, providing care to the male driver – the lone occupant of the vehicle.

Police say that the driver, a 52-year-old man from the RM of Tache, was later pronounced deceased on scene.

Initial police investigation determined that the SUV had veered into the ditch of Road 32E and collided with an embankment, causing significant damage to the vehicle.

Steinbach RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate this incident.
