A 48-year-old Winnipeg man is facing a number of drug related charges after recently being arrested by Portage la Prairie RCMP.

On November 19, 2020, Portage la Prairie RCMP had assistance from the Winnipeg Police Service in executing a warrant on an individual located in Winnipeg.

Police say that a 34-year-old male suspect from Portage la Prairie was arrested and officers were able to seize 11 grams of purple heroin and an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency on his person.

The arrest resulted in a follow-up search warrant at a residence located on Home Street in Winnipeg. The search was carried out by Portage RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Services and officers out of RCMP “D” Division Headquarters.

While executing the warrant, officers located cocaine, methamphetamine, prescription pills, ecstasy, a stolen bike and a stolen passport.

RCMP report that 48-year-old Gary Mager of Winnipeg is facing numerous charges in connection to these crimes.
