A 29-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after Selkirk RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance at a local residence.

On January 7, 2021, at 8:45pm, Selkirk RCMP responded to a call of a disturbance at a residence located on Clandeboye Avenue in Selkirk, Manitoba.

Officers were advised by the homeowner that a 29-year-old woman, who also resides at the residence, had been causing a commotion inside the home earlier. The homeowner also stated that they were unable to say where she had gone.

Police, who were inside the home, observed a prohibited weapon in plain view and upon further search, located several additional prohibited weapons including three knives and a machete.

Upon confirming that the suspect was no longer in the residence, officers exited the home and began to walk back to their vehicles when they observed the suspect sleeping in the back seat of a nearby parked vehicle.

RCMP report that the suspect was subsequently arrested and upon search, was found to be in possession of several BB guns and a small quantity of methamphetamine. The woman was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court. She will be facing multiple weapon and drug-related charges.
