With the upcoming changes to the latest provincial public health orders, and the decrease in positive cases of COVID-19 in Steinbach, the city is providing updates regarding its facilities.

The City of Steinbach says that it continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and providing essential services continues to be its priority while protecting the health and well-being of local residents and employees.

Effective Monday, January 25, City Hall (225 Reimer Avenue) and the city’s Operations Building (51 Millwork Drive) will re-open to the public and resume regular business hours.

Masks are mandatory in all city facilities. Visitors will be subject to safety protocols recommended by Manitoba Public Health, which may include screening questions, physical distancing, hand sanitization, and limits on the number of visitors at one time.

Contactless payment methods – debit and credit cards – are preferred for all in-person visits to city offices, but cash is accepted.

Regularly scheduled council meetings continue to be open to the public. Attendees are required to complete a Visitor COVID-19 Self Declaration form (available at Steinbach.ca) and follow all public health protocols.

The Steinbach Landfill continues to be open regular winter hours.

All city play structures, outdoor fitness equipment, toboggan hills, and outdoor rinks are open. The outdoor rink at T.G. Smith Centre and the pleasure skating rink beside the Jake Epp Library are open weather permitting. Dressing rooms and washrooms are not available. Anyone using city outdoor recreational facilities must follow all provincial public health orders.

In compliance with provincial public health orders, the Aquatic Centre and TG Smith Centre remain closed.

Updates on the COVID-19 situation as it relates to City of Steinbach facilities, services and programs will continue to be posted at Steinbach.ca. Updates will also be shared through the city’s social media.
