Selkirk RCMP are reporting that a man has recently died after falling through ice into the Red River in Selkirk, Manitoba.

On March 21, 2021, at approximately 12:15pm, Selkirk RCMP received a report that a male was seen walking on the ice about 50-100 meters from shore when he fell through the ice into the Red River at Memorial Park in Selkirk, Manitoba.

RCMP responded to the scene along with local fire and EMS.

Police say that the 52-year-old male was located and brought to shore by the Selkirk Fire Department, where he was treated by EMS. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
