A 37-year-old Steinbach man recently escaped injuries after the semi-truck he was driving collided head-on with a pickup truck at a location near the Perimeter Highway in the Rural Municipality of Rosser, Manitoba.

On June 21, 2021, at approximately 1:35pm, Stonewall RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 6. The incident occurred at a location approximately five kilometres from Highway 101 (Perimeter Highway), in the RM of Rosser.

Police investigation determined that a northbound pickup truck, driven by a 36-year-old Winnipeg man, entered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a semi-truck. His vehicle then entered the ditch and rolled.

Police say that the driver of the semi-trailer, a 37-year-old Steinbach man, was able to pull his vehicle over to the side of the Highway.

RCMP report that the 36-year-old Winnipeg driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The 37-year-old male driver of the semi-trailer, from Steinbach, was not injured.

Stonewall RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
