A St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP officer, along with a bystander, recently rescued a female who was struggling to stay afloat in the Red River at a location near Ste. Agathe, Manitoba.

On August 3, 2021, at 5:30pm, St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP received a report regarding a female in distress on the bridge spanning the Red River on Provincial Road 305 in Ste. Agathe.

Police say that an officer attended the scene and within minutes, the female was observed in the water being carried down stream in the Red River, struggling to stay afloat.

RCMP report that the officer on scene, along with a bystander, jumped into the water and swam to the woman, bringing her back to shore. Once on shore, she was met by EMS and transported to hospital for further assessment.
