The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce has announced its 4th annual Steinbach Burger Days winners. The competition ran from September 11-18, with a record 19 local restaurants participating in the event.
“This event has very quickly become a much-anticipated community favourite,” said Michelle Bezditny, Executive Director for the Steinbach Chamber. “Every year we think the entries can’t get better, and then these restaurants take it to the next level! At the Chamber, we are always looking for opportunities to
promote education about what ‘support local’ looks like, and this event is one fun opportunity to do just that.”
Officials say that during the competion, over 12,500 burgers were sold, generating $195,000 in total sales, with each restaurant selling between 150-1500 burgers.
New this year, the Chamber developed a unique Grand Prize VIP Tour which was won by Nick Goertzen, Owner of Digital Kingdom. Nick was excited to receive a VIP Burger Days Tour featuring limo service, special entrance to two Burger Days restaurants of his choice for dinner for two, and a local product gift basket.
The award recipients for the 2021 burger competition are:
- Best Tasting Burger: R Bistro – Sweet Whiskey Prime Rib Burger
- Most Creative Burger: New B’s Café – Farmer’s Bounty
- Best Presentation: Sawney Beans – The Banh Mi Burger
The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce thanks all this year’s participating restaurants that brought their incredible creations for all to enjoy.
