Due to favourable weather, the City of Steinbach has announced that it’s fire danger index has returned to level 1 (low) as of Tuesday morning, May 20, 2025.
Officials say that the level 1 fire danger index means that all burning that complies with the City of Steinbach burning by-law 2205 is once again permitted. The three-stage Fire Danger Index is used by the City to identify the fire risk based on moisture and weather conditions.
The City thanks residents for their cooperation with the previous restrictions under last week’s elevated fire danger index level and with the City’s burning by-law.
