Two male youths were recently arrested and charged by RCMP after one of them fired a Glock handgun at a local resident in Berens River, Manitoba.

Berens River RCMP recently attended a residence in the community after receiving a report of shots fired by two unknown males. Upon arrival, officers learned that two male suspects came to the residence – one firing a gun at one of the residents.

Police say that the suspect missed the resident when firing the gun, and subsequently left the property in a pickup truck.

Further investigation led officers to another residence in Berens River where they found the two suspects hiding in a bedroom with a loaded Glock handgun in their possession.

Upon arrest of the suspects, police discovered that the two 15-year-old male youths were also in possession of ammunition for the handgun, a large amount of Canadian currency, and drugs individually wrapped.

Members noted that the handgun had never been registered in Canada, leading officers to believe that it may have been smuggled from another country.

RCMP report that the two youths were charged with multiple offences and remanded into custody.
