Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a 22-year-old Steinbach man had died as the result of a head-on collision that occurred on Highway 12, approximately one kilometre south of Highway 303 in the RM of Hanover.
On June 30, 2025, at approximately 12am, Steinbach RCMP responded to a head-on, two vehicle collision on Highway 12. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a vehicle lying on its side in the ditch, while another vehicle was blocking both lanes of the highway.
Police say that the driver of the vehicle on the highway, a 22-year-old male from Steinbach, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver, a 20-year-old male from the RM of De Salaberry was taken to hospital in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable.
Steinbach RCMP along with the RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team continue to investigate this incident.
