With the ongoing postal strike, the delivery of City paper billing, invoices and other notifications by mail may be impacted – including water utility bills, supplemental tax bills, payment reminder notices, and public notices. The City of Steinbach encourages residents to consider alternative service delivery options to minimize the impact of mail delivery delays.
Water/Sewer utility bills
Water/Sewer utility bills will continue to be issued, and the payment due date will remain unchanged.
As a reminder, utility bills issued in early November are due on Friday, November 28th, 2025. Payment options can be found below.
For those who currently receive their utility bills by mail, the City recommends signing up to receive your bills by email on the City of Steinbach website at steinbach.ca. Residents who sign up by Wednesday, October 15th will receive their November bill by email.
The City will not be able to mail final utility bills in the event of postal service disruption. If you have recently moved, and have not received a final utility bill, please contact the Utility Clerk to arrange alternative methods of invoice delivery at utilities@steinbach.ca or 204-346-6224. Final utility bills are due Friday, October 31st, 2025.
Supplementary tax bills and property tax bills
Property owners who have made changes to their property in recent years or have built a new home in recent years are typically issued a supplementary tax bill, which are mailed out the first week of October and are due the last business day in December.
The City will not be able to mail supplementary tax bills in the event of postal service disruption. If you are expecting but have not yet received a supplementary tax bill, please contact the Tax Department, at taxes@steinbach.ca or 204-346-6531.
Land use applications and public notices
Public notices announcing land use applications will be distributed through alternative courier services at the request of and as funded by the applicant, in the event of postal service disruption. Public notices are also published on steinbach.ca and may be published in The Carillon newspaper as required by legislation.
