A 38-year-old man, from the Rural Municipality (RM) of West St. Paul, has recently been arrested and charged in connection to a road rage incident that occurred on Highway 8.
On March 21, 2026, at 8:11pm, Red River North and Selkirk RCMP responded to a report of a weapons offence that occurred in the RM of West St. Paul.
Police were told that a 35-year-old male was traveling along the highway, near Grassmere Road, when a male in another vehicle pointed a handgun at him following a road rage incident. At approximately 8:30pm, officers located the suspect vehicle at a residence in the RM of West St Paul.
RCMP report that the driver, 38-year-old Jagdeep Dhaliwal, was immediately arrested and taken into custody. Dhaliwal, from the RM of West St. Paul, has been charged with pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, and unsafe storage of a firearm.
As a result of the incident, members were able to obtain a search warrant for the residence and located a CO2 powered air pistol, along with two other long guns.
