Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a 49-year-old male has died as the result of a recent aggravated assault incident that occurred in the Rural Municipality (RM) of Ste. Anne, Manitoba.
On May 2, 2026, at 11:37pm, Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of an aggravated assault at a location in the RM of Ste. Anne. Police say that following the assault, a 49-year-old male suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance. Officers noted that the man succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.
RCMP report that the death is being investigated as a homicide and Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services have taken carriage of the investigation.
Steinbach RCMP, along with RCMP Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services, continue to investigate this incident.
