The Steinbach Arts Council (SAC) has announced the official performer lineup for the 2026 KR Barkman Concerts in the Park series, scheduled to begin May 20.
“The KR Barkman Concerts in the Park series is all about bringing the community together to enjoy live music outdoors in a welcoming and accessible setting,” says Tara Schellenberg, Performing Arts Coordinator at the Steinbach Arts Council. “These free concerts create opportunities for families, friends, and neighbours to gather, connect, and experience the incredible talent we have here in our region.”
The free outdoor series returns to the KR Barkman Park gazebo on Main Street, offering an opportunity for the community to come together in celebration of local talent. This year’s schedule features seven performance dates, showcasing a mix of established community favorites and fresh, emerging voices.
The 2026 lineup includes:
- May 20 – Southern Sound, 4given Quartet, New Covenant Quartet
- May 26 – Matt Zimmerman, The Academy
- May 28 – Southeast Brass Quintet
- June 3 – KW Duo, Looking Glass Theatre
- June 9 – Above Bass, Jon Stoesz, Chammartin Family
- June 11 – Darryl Marsch Band, Crossfire
- June 17 – Jess & Janice, P-Noise
The performer lineup reflects the wide range of talent within the Southeast, featuring genres from acapella vocal, country, rock, southern gospel and classical instrumental to professional theatre.
The Steinbach Arts Council is committed to ensuring these performing arts experiences remain accessible to everyone. In partnership with the Barkman Concrete Foundation, all concerts are provided free of charge to the public. Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks to enjoy these family-friendly evenings.
