As a result from a recent search of a rural property south of Steinbach, RCMP are reporting that three stolen motor vehicles, one stolen motorcycle and a stolen license plate were recovered.

Police say that some of the stolen vehicles had numerous car parts removed which is indicative that  the property was being utilized as a chop shop.

Also recovered during the search was a unsafely stored loaded high powered rifle.

Police noted that a Police Service Dog was injured during the search by a large dog. The attacking dog was shot by officers and died as result.

RCMP report that a 41-year-old Hanover man was arrested and faces charges of possession of stolen property and unsafe storage of a firearm.
