The Hydrologic Forecast Centre of Manitoba Infrastructure advises that water bodies in the province are in the process of freezing over. Ice is still very thin and larger rivers still have open water in some areas.

The latest five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 5.5 per cent provincially and 2.5 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on November 25, 2021, 459 new cases of the virus have been identified since Monday: 129 cases on Tuesday, Nov. 23; 147 cases on Wednesday, Nov. 24; and 183 cases on Nov. 25.

The province has announced that it is beginning to immunize children ages five to 11 against COVID-19 this week and thousands of parents have already booked appointments to protect their younger children during the fourth wave of the pandemic and into the holiday season.

The Manitoba government is providing $6.8 million in additional funding to improve school ventilation with priority given to schools in regions with higher levels of community transmission.

As of this morning, more than 22,000 appointments have been booked for children aged 5 to 11. To be eligible, children must be five at the time the appointment is booked and appointments are only currently available at supersites. Vaccine will be delivered to participating medical clinics and pharmacies between Nov. 25 and 29.

A 48-year-old male St. Clements man has died as the result of a recent snowmobile collision in the Rural Municipality of St. Clements. Police believe that speed was a factor in this fatal incident.

As of 11am on November 22, 2021, nearly 13,000 appointments have been booked for children ages 5 to 11 online or through the provincial call centre.

As of 9:30am on November 22, 2021, 660 new cases of the virus have been identified since Friday: 201 cases on Friday, Nov. 19; 164 cases on Saturday, Nov. 20; 159 cases on Sunday, Nov. 21; and 136 cases today.

The Manitoba government is planning to open the fourth session of the 42nd legislature on the afternoon of November 23, 2021, with the reading of the speech from the throne by Lt.-Gov. Janice C. Filmon.
