Today’s five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 3.8 per cent provincially and 1.5 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on October 28, 2021, 319 new cases of the virus have been identified since Monday: 73 cases on Tuesday, Oct. 26; 130 cases Wednesday, Oct. 27 and 116 cases today.

Nelson House RCMP are asking the public for any information into the whereabouts of a missing man from the community, 22-year-old Rico Cody Linklater.

The province is expanding recommendations for third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to include residents of congregate elderly persons housing. There are more than 500 sites across the province and regional health authorities will be working with them in the coming weeks to implement.

The Public Utilities Board (Board) approved the application of Centra Gas Manitoba Inc. (Centra) to increase the current Primary Gas rate effective November 1, 2021. Primary Gas is sold on a cost recovery basis without markup by Centra to Manitoba customers.

The province has announced that current public health orders have been extended for an additional three weeks with the goal of maintaining Manitoba’s positive response to the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligibility for first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine continues to include anyone born on or before Dec. 31, 2009. A total of 2,068,410 doses of vaccine have been administered in Manitoba. Manitoba vaccine sites are offering walk-in and appointment-based vaccinations for COVID-19 and the seasonal flu.

As of 9:30am on October 25, 2021, 464 new cases of the virus have been identified since Friday: 130 cases on Friday, Oct 22; 107 cases Saturday, Oct 23; 149 cases Sunday, Oct. 24; and 78 cases today.

Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development advises that conservation officers are continuing enforcement to protect Manitoba’s natural resources, including compliance checks for fisheries, addressing illegal hunting, and increasing the number of officers in the field.

The General Manager of Manitoba Pork says legislation passed in Manitoba will help protect farm families from malicious trespassers, the animals on their farms from exposure to disease, and consumers from the food shortages that would result from a foreign animal disease incursion.

The Manitoba government is partnering with the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC) to fund the Digital Manitoba Initiative (DMI), which will help businesses and non-profit organizations with digital transformation.
