Manitoba is leading the nation in economic recovery, with enough job growth in July to replace any losses from the previous month, according to Statistics Canada.

A 10-year-old boy has recently died as the result of an accident that occurred at a farmyard south of Beausejour, in the RM of Brokenhead, Manitoba.

The Manitoba government has introduced a new app that will allow people to request and access their Manitoba immunization card. The Manitoba Immunization Card app will allow people to access their digital card when not connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data services.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 2.5 per cent provincially and 1.6 per cent in Winnipeg. Manitoba conservation officers are reporting that an individual was recently arrested and charged, under The Wildfires Act for entering a designated area during a closed period without a travel permit.

A male prisoner of the Lynn Lake RCMP recently escaped custody while being escorted from the local detachment to a police vehicle. Police warn the public not to approach the suspect if spotted as he is considered dangerous.

The governments of Canada and Manitoba have agreed to increase the 2021 AgriStability interim benefit payment percentage from 50 per cent to 75 per cent for Manitoba producers.

Grand Rapids RCMP recently responded to a report of a modified grenade found on the riverbank behind the school in Grand Rapids, Manitoba. The siting was reported on August 1, 2021, at approximately 12pm.

In addition to previously announced supports, the province encourages producers to reach out for mental health supports and assistance dealing with the stress these current conditions may put on producers and their families.

The Manitoba Wildfire Service advises that although there have been some recent improvements in weather conditions in parts of Manitoba, the fire danger levels remain high and some increased restrictions are required. These changes to fire and travel restrictions are being implemented, effective immediately.
