The province has announced that Manitobans with specific medical conditions can begin to book second-dose COVID-19 vaccine appointments starting May 21, 2021.

The Wildfire Program of Manitoba Conservation and Climate advises that wildfire danger levels remain extremely high across all of southern and central Manitoba, and a number of wildfires are burning across the province. Air-quality warnings have been issued for parts of western and central Manitoba due to smoke.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 13.5 per cent provincially and 15.1 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on May 19, 2021, 402 new cases of the virus have been identified. However, one case has been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 401 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 46,314.

Manitobans can begin to book second-dose COVID-19 vaccine appointments starting 11:45 a.m., Friday, May 21, 2021. At this time, only people who have the specific priority conditions will be able to book a second dose appointment by phone or online on Friday.

However, one case has been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 334 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 45,913.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 12.7 per cent provincially and 14.3 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on May 17, 2021, 430 new cases of the virus have been identified. The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 45,579.

A record 41,754 appointments were booked on Friday after age eligibility was lowered to 12 and older. The previous record was 26,000 on May 13. Parents are reminded to book the appointment under their child’s name, not their own name. If that parent had already received a first dose, the appointment would be cancelled as second-dose appointments are not currently being accepted.

Infrastructure Minister Ron Schuler announced that the Manitoba government will be reducing vehicle registration fees on July 1, for the second year in a row.

However, two cases have been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 532 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 45,149.
