Manitoba Health reports first confirmed human case of West Nile virus this season

Manitoba Health is reporting the province’s first confirmed human case of West Nile virus (WNV) this season, a female in her 60s who lives in the Interlake–Eastern Regional Health Authority.

Province reporting first positive test results for mosquitos carrying West Nile virus

Manitoba Health reports that Culex tarsalis mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus (WNV) were collected from the Rural Municipality of Headingley last week. This is the first mosquito pool that has tested positive in Manitoba this season.
