The Manitoba Wildfire Service is reporting a high to extreme level of fire danger in the north area of the province and a low level of fire danger in the rest of the province.

With a hot and dry forecast this weekend, the Manitoba Wildfire Service is advising that the fire danger level in the province is currently high to very high. The Manitoba Wildfire Service encourages Manitobans to enjoy the weekend safely and with fire prevention in mind.

Manitoba Natural Resources and Indigenous Futures is preparing for the 2026 wildfire season by investing in wildfire equipment and resources, hiring additional staff and reminding Manitobans to take preventative steps to help prevent human-caused fires.
