The City of Steinbach would like to inform residents that during the week of August 21 to August 25, temporary road closures and construction may impact travel in a number of areas.

The Manitoba government continues to drive efforts to get more electric vehicles (EV) on the road by investing in additional charging infrastructure in Winnipeg and rural Manitoba.

Work to upgrade the Perimeter Highway to meet freeway standards is ongoing, with a number of projects completed, and continuing works planned for this summer.

The Manitoba government has started the functional design study to twin a section of Provincial Trunk Highway (PTH) 3 beginning 1.6 kilometres east of PTH 100 to the city of Winnipeg limit.

The City of Steinbach has announced that during the week of July 4-7, 2023, a number of road closures will be occurring due to milling and paving work being done.

Highway improvement projects on Provincial Trunk Highway (PTH) 75 are well underway, with construction started in mid-May and expected completion scheduled later this year.

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure advises that rock blasting on the Trans-Canada Highway at the Manitoba-Ontario border will start June 12 and continue for the next four to six weeks.

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure reports construction will close a portion of the South Perimeter Highway at the St. Mary’s Road interchange overnight from 9pm to 5:30am starting June 12 at 9pm until June 30 at 5:30am.

As part of the Manitoba government’s vision for the Perimeter Highway as a fully-access controlled freeway, project planning has now started for a new interchange at the intersection of Provincial Trunk Highway (PTH) 100 and St. Anne’s Road to improve traffic operations and safety.

Work is now underway as the Manitoba government begins its next steps on twinning the Trans-Canada Highway from Falcon Lake to Manitoba-Ontario border.
