A young boy from Steinbach had a dream come true yesterday as he discovered that he was the winner of the City’s Share the Road bike contest.
7-year-old Nathaniel Gillings responded to the news of his win with a hop in the air, a large smile, and a exclamation of ‘awesome!’ Although it may be a year or two until Nathaniel fits his new bike, he was confident he would grow into it.
The City of Steinbach’s Public Works Department had a Share the Road booth at the Summer in the City Festival this past weekend, with a free draw to win a new bike. The City continues to promote safe cycling this summer for both cyclists and drivers alike.
