Mr. Ken

Children's entertainer, Mr. Ken.

Mr. Ken, a children’s entertainer from Winnipeg, will be performing at the Mennonite Heritage Village Museum in Steinbach on Friday, July 29 at 1:30pm.

Children’s entertainer Mr. Ken is releasing his second album “Smiles Around The World” featuring new original kids tunes in 6 languages.

Mr. Ken is a Montessori teacher by day and moonlights as a children’s entertainer performing at birthday parties, festivals and in the next few weeks at the Fringe Festival in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His shows consist of music, magic, face and story painting.

Kids are involved in his performances, which makes them feel like they are part of the show. They get to sing and dance along to the songs, play instruments and hold props for songs. Mr. Ben is a painting artist who paints the characters of the songs in a big coloring book while Mr. Ken sings. “It’s a great way of story telling and kids are fascinated by the combination of audio and visuals”, says Mr. Ken.

Upon parent’s requests, Mr. Ken started to perform at children’s birthday parties and recorded a few of his original songs. The first EP with 4 songs was released in December, 2010. Inspired by the feedback of kids and parents, Mr. Ken now releases a full length album.

His new album is entitled “Smiles Around The World” and features feel good party songs mixed with educational tunes.

The new CD features 9 English tracks, 5 of them in German, 5 in Spanish and one of them in English, German, Spanish, Plautdietsch, Japanese and French, totaling 19 tracks on the CD.

“I wanted to make sure that my fans and friends around the world could sing along to my songs in their language”, Mr. Ken says.

The CD will be released mid-July 2011 and can be pre ordered at MrKenMusic.com for $15.

“I want kids to feel good about themselves and the world they live in. It is too often that I see children surrounded by negative messages and stuck in broken homes”, Mr. Ken states.
