On July 29, 2011, shortly before 7am,  Powerview RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 304 north of Powerview.

It was reported that the vehicle had multiple occupants, involving serious injuries with one occupant having been ejected from the vehicle.

Powerview RCMP, along with a Little Black River Band Constable, STARS Air Ambulance, three ground ambulances and the Pine Falls Fire Department, responded to the scene located approximately 24 kilometres north of Powerview on Highway 304.

A Ford pick-up truck, was located in the west ditch. The truck was traveling northbound, crossed the oncoming lane and entered the ditch where it rolled.

There were a total of 5 occupants in the vehicle, all males ranging from 15 to 26-years-old from the Little Black River Reserve Community, located 40 kilometres north of Powerview. The driver was an 18-year-old male.

A 20-year-old male passenger on board the truck was airlifted to a Winnipeg hospital by STARS Air Ambulance, one adult male was transported to a Winnipeg hospital by ground ambulance. His injuries are considered serious in nature. The other three males were transported to Pine Falls General Hospital.

Powerview RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of an RCMP Traffic Analyst. While it is in the early stages of the investigation, it is believed that speed and alcohol are contributing factors in this collision.
