Reimer Avenue – Watermain & Sewer Renewal & Road Reconstruction

The work is almost completed on Reimer Avenue. The sidewalks and curbs should be finished by the end of next week, with the asphalt completed by the end of the month. Boulevard grading, topsoil, and sodding will also be completed in the next two weeks.

Wastewater Lagoon Expansion

The new cells of the Lagoon were completed a couple weeks ago and the cosmetic work of seeding and fencing has begun. Manitoba Conservation was out last week to conduct quality control tests to ensure the cells meet provincial standards. Construction of some internal roads as well as the rebuilding of Road 38 N will also take place over the next few weeks. The project is anticipated to be fully complete by mid September.

Landfill Expansion

The shaping of the Landfill’s new retention and sedimentation ponds has been completed. The key trench should be complete by the end of next week, after which topsoil placement, seeding, and final cleanup will take place. Manitoba Conservation has completed quality control testing to ensure the clay liners in the ponds meet provincial standards. The anticipated completion date for the Landfill expansion is end of September.

Deerfield Walkway

Only landscaping is left to complete for the Deerfield Walkway project. All of the concrete work and lighting is now in place. The City’s Parks Department will be planting trees along the pathway next week and then sodding will take place.

Asphalt Overlay

On Chapel Drive, the concrete work and asphalting is now complete. Boulevard sodding will be completed early next week.

Residential Developments

Laing Gate and Slater Place, part of Clearspring Greens (Phase Four), has sewer infrastructure in place and has begun roadwork. Curbing is set to begin next week, with asphalt taking place the following week. Completion and final inspection is slated for mid to end of September.

Work on Poplar Estates (Phase Four) has also commenced. This development creates forty-one lots on Alderwood Crescent and Edgewood Avenue. An October completion is anticipated.
