On September 1, 2011, just after 4pm, Stonewall and Selkirk RCMP were dispatched to the scene of a collision at a highway construction site in the RM of Rockwood.

Initial investigation indicates that a flag person was struck by a vehicle at a construction site on Highway 67, 10 km east of Highway 7.

Police say that the flag person, a 39-year-old woman, received minor injuries.

The vehicle involved left the scene and was later located by police. RCMP report that no charges have been laid at this time, but the investigation is continuing.

RCMP would like to remind motorists that they are required to follow the directions of a signal person at a construction site.

With the continued warm weather, workers will continue to be present on roadways. Motorists are urged to slow down and exercise caution any time construction crews or emergency personnel are present on Manitoba highways.
