Counterfeit items seized by RCMP during search.
RCMP investigators have seized a quantity counterfeit items, including designer jewelry, clothing and accessories from a Winnipeg store last week.
On September 23, 2011 the RCMP Federal Enforcement Section executed a search warrant on a retail store located in the 300 block of St. Annes Road in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This was as a result of an ongoing investigation regarding violations of the Copyright and Trademark Acts.
RCMP investigators seized approximately $155,000.00 worth of counterfeit items, including designer jewelry, clothing and accessories.
Several brand names were identified, including Tiffany & Co., Bvlgari, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Juicy Couture, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Versace, Chanel, Coach, D&G, Prada, and Louis Vuitton.
Charges under the Copyright Act are being contemplated at this time.
Police continue to investigate.
