A woman from the RM of Elton is dead after her car rolled into the ditch on Highway 270 this past weekend.
On October 9, 2011, at 2:30am, Neepawa RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal single vehicle rollover on Highway 270, approximately 6 km south of Rapid City.
Investigation indicates that a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire was southbound on Highway 270 when it left the highway and went into the ditch, rolling over at least once.
The driver and lone occupant, a 20-year-old woman from the RM of Elton, was transported to local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Her name will not be released.
An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended to assist with the investigation. Seat belt use is considered to be a factor.
RCMP report that no other persons or vehicles were involved in this collision.
Police continue to investigate.
