The Office of the Fire Commissioner (OFC) is encouraging Manitobans to check batteries in smoke and fire detectors and ensure they are in good working order when they switch their clocks to daylight saving time on Sunday, March 8.

The OFC suggests that, as Manitobans take the time to adjust clocks, they should also test smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms and test battery-powered warning devices.

The official time change to daylight saving time occurs at 2 a.m., Sunday, March 8 at which time clocks should be set ahead to 3 a.m.
