Skating enthusiasts in Steinbach will be excited to know that the outdoor rink by the T.G. Smith Centre will open today at 6pm for public skating.
During regular arena hours, dressing room one is available for outdoor skaters to put on their skates and warm up.
A second outdoor rink is currently being created on the other side of the arenas by the community gardens and garage sale notice board. The readiness of this ice surface will depend on weather conditions in the coming weeks.
Parks and Rec staff decided to move the outdoor rink from the Jake Epp Library to the community garden location based on the construction happening at the Library and that the new location is larger with more trees in the area.
