On March 12, 2009 at about 3 a.m., RCMP Morris Detachment responded to a break and enter at the Lowe Farm Coop in Low Farm, near Morris, Manitoba. Two suspects are currently at large and the RCMP are asking the public to call police if anyone is seen on foot in the area of Lowe Farm.

RCMP have set up a containment area with the assistance of the surrounding detachments and the RCMP Police Service Dog. The pair is considered dangerous.

The public is asked to report anyone walking in the area of Lowe Farm. They may be banging on doors. Do not approach these individuals, contact police.

RCMP Morris Detachment continues to look for at least one more adult male individual in connection with this break In. The incident began at 3 a.m. this morning when RCMP were dispatched to a Break In at the Lowe Farm Coop in Lowe Farm near Morris, Man.  RCMP attended at which time one suspect was arrested and at least one more was observed fleeing the scene. The individual who was arrested bolted from police and escaped custody. While the area was contained and efforts were made to locate the culprits, a separate suspect was arrested at about 6:30 this morning and is now in police custody.

Police suspect these individuals are linked to a string of break-ins in Southern Manitoba including Winkler, Morden, Morris, St. Pierre, Selkirk, East St. Paul, the RM of Springfield and the RM of East St. Paul and were also involved in a high speed pursuit with RCMP East St. Paul Detachment on March 10th.

Due to the nature of their activities, police consider these individuals dangerous.

RCMP Morris Detachment assisted by the Winnipeg Major Crime Unit, Winnipeg Forensic Identification Services and the RCMP Police Service Dog continues to investigate.

RCMP Morris and area Detachments continue to patrol the Lowe Farm area. At this time, no further arrests have been made. An adult male remains in custody. No charges have been laid in connection with this incident.

RCMP Morris Detachment continue to investigate the Break Enter in progress at the Lowe Farm Coop, Manitoba. 

On March 12, 2009 at about 9 p.m., a second suspect was arrested in Winnipeg, with the assistance of the Winnipeg Police Service, in connection with this incident. The suspect, a 30-year-old from Winnipeg, was the same individual arrested at the scene who had bolted from police and escaped lawful custody. He is currently in RCMP custody. Charges are pending.

Cyr Anthony Basson (25 years of age) of Winnipeg, who had been arrested by the RCMP in the morning hours of March 12th in Lowe Farm, has been charged for Theft over $5,000 (for the truck), Possess Stolen Property (truck), Break Enter with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence, Possession of Break-in instruments and two counts of Breach of Recognizance. Basson has been remanded in custody to appear in Winnipeg court Monday March 16th. 

Although the possibility exists a third suspect may be involved in the incident, this has yet to be confirmed. The charges laid are all in relations to the Break In at the Lowe Farm Coop.

A Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck stolen from on March 11th in the RM of McDonald  was recovered at the scene. Nothing was stolen from the business.

The investigation continues.
