On January 4, 2012, at about 3am, Headingley RCMP as well as local Emergency Services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal two vehicle collision on Highway 3, just north of Sanford, Manitoba.

Initial investigation indicates that a 2010 Chrysler Sebring was southbound on PTH 3, when it collided head-on with a northbound 1990 Nissan pick-up truck.

The lone occupant of the Nissan pick-up truck, a 64-year-old man from Sanford, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the deceased will not be released. There were three occupants in the Chrysler Sebring, an adult male and two adult females. All were transported to hospital with serious, undetermined injuries.

An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

A 21-year-old woman involved in this collision has died in hospital. She is from the City of Winnipeg. A 20-year-old woman involved in this collision has died in hospital. The deceased is from Sanford, Manitoba. Both names will not be released.

Police continue to investigate.
