On January 8, 2011, at about 8:45am, Oakbank RCMP, following an investigation, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence on Zora Road in the RM of Springfield.

The residence was searched and officers discovered a false wall leading to a marijuana grow operation. A total of 157 marijuana plants were seized from the residence. Police say that the value of the drugs is estimated at $157,000.

A 33-year-old woman was arrested at the residence and a 35-year-old man later turned himself in at the Oakbank Detachment.

Both homeowners have since been released on a recognizance to appear in Beausejour Court on March 20, 2012. They will face charges of production of marijuana under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Surrounding Detachment members along with the RCMP Winnipeg Drug Section assisted in the investigation.
