On January 27, 2012, just before 3am, Carman RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal single vehicle collision in Carman, Manitoba.

Initial investigation indicates that a 2003 Ford F350 pick-up truck was westbound on Highway 245 in Carman when it collided with a bridge abutment on the Boyne River. The vehicle rolled over at least once and the driver was ejected. The driver, a 28-year-old man from the RM of Dufferin, Manitoba, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name will not be released.

Police say that there were no other persons or vehicles involved. An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended to assist with the investigation and seat belt use is considered a factor at this time.

Police continue to investigate.
