Cocaine seized during traffic stop.
On May 31, 2012, Thompson RCMP Drug Section with the assistance of the Thompson RCMP General Investigation Services seized nearly one Kilogram of powder cocaine in Thompson.
An investigation that led officers to a traffic stop on Mystery Lake Road in the City of Thompson resulted in the seizure of 875 grams of cocaine.
32-year-old Sunil Ravindra Patel of Winnipeg has been charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Patel was remanded into custody to appear in Thompson Court.
Police say that the street value of the cocaine seized is estimated at $100,000 in Thompson.
