This past weekend, RCMP Officers in Thompson arrested and charged two Thompson residents in an investigation targeting street level drug traffickers in the City of Thompson.

23-year-old Patrick Shamus Jackson has been charged with trafficking cocaine. Jackson has been remanded into custody to appear June 25th. 24-year-old Ryan Scott MaCumber has also been charged with trafficking cocaine. MaCumber has been released from custody on a recognizance to appear in Thompson Provincial Court on August 10, 2012.

RCMP seized a small quantity of powder cocaine during the course of the investigation.

Several officers were involved in the investigation, including officers from the RCMP North Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team, the RCMP Thompson General Investigation Section, the RCMP Thompson Drug Section and the RCMP Thompson Police Dog Service (PDS).

Police would like to encourage citizens to report suspected drug activity to the RCMP or their local law enforcement agency.
